To do list

There's a lot of immediate prep work that goes into surgery from the patient's side. You can't just show up at the hospital asking to get cut open without the doctors knowing what they're really getting into; so there are an array of tests and hoops you have to jump through before they cut you open and fix you up.

1.) orthodontist appt (to get my surgical hooks :D) 5/13/14    5/27/14   5/31/14
2.) Dentist appt to get my cavities filled 5/21/14 5/29/14
3.) ENT appt so that they can make sure that my nose ears and throat are in a good enough shape to go through surgery. for the first part of my surgery, my nose and palate are going to be completely compromised and i wont be able to breathe for a while. 5/27/14
4.) Primary Care Physician work up to make sure that im physically suitable to have this surgery and that my body can take the trauma 5/22/14
5.) Final work up by the surgeon so they have the proper information 5/30/14
6.) Pre-op appt so  that I know what to fully expect 6/9/14

Then you have the personal checklists so you know that YOU're ready to go through with this.
you'll be pretty much useless for a few weeks and if you already know what inconveniences and  side effects that come with the surgery, then it would be in your best interest to prepare in advance for that. For me, that entails:

7.) Cleaning my room/the bathroom/the house cause let's be real, we all feel a little bit better when everything is clean and organized.
8.) getting the vents cleaned (to minimize sinus irritation)
9.) shopping for supplies [that will be an entirely different page]
10.)Getting anointed- I was brought up as a  strongly religious person and it wouldn't hurt to go under spiritually prepared.
11.) crossing as many things off my bucket list as possible [The last supper]
12.)packing OMG I LOVE TO PACK FOR TRIPS AND SUCH AND IM SO EXCITED EVEN IF IT'S FOR A 1-2 NIGHT STAY AT THE HOSPITAL IM STILL EXCITED
